Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill commented on Robert Griffin III’s tweet that Tua Tagovailoa is not Patrick Mahomes, and he is just supporting his new quarterback.

Tyreek Hill posted the debut episode of his podcast, “It Needed to be Said,” and created waves in the NFL world. Perhaps the one comment he made that has gained the most traction is his comparison between quarterbacks Tua Tagovailoa and Patrick Mahomes, praising the third-year Dolphins signal caller for being more accurate. That, of course, created quite the uproar not just in the Chiefs fanbase, but among all NFL fanbases.

On Tuesday, June 14, former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III sent out a tweet saying that Hill knows that Tagovailoa is not Mahomes, but says the wide receiver “is just tired of people going in on his QB.”

Hill replied to Griffin’s tweet, saying “finally someone gets the message.”

It is no secret that Tagovailoa is among the most scrutinized quarterbacks in the NFL. Despite his success with the Alabama football program, he has had his fair share of struggles through his first two seasons in the NFL. It certainly does not help that Joe Burrow and Justin Herbert, both of whom were drafted in the first-round of the 2020 NFL Draft, have established themselves as superstars in the league.

The hope is that his third season will be the one where he breaks through. The organization did provide him some support in the form of Hill, new head coach Mike McDaniel and offensive tackle Terron Armstead. It is all up to the former Crimson Tide quarterback to put it all together.

In regards to the criticism, Tagovailoa recently said at minicamp that he tunes out the critics and expressed the ultimate confidence in his arm strength, citing a deep pass he threw to Hill in front of the media at the end of practice.

As Griffin states in his tweet, Hill was just telling the world that Tagovailoa is his quarterback and he has his back.
