Watch Ben Roethlisberger react on camera to the Pittsburgh Steelers getting into the AFC playoffs after Daniel Carlson’s field goal went through the uprights for the Las Vegas Raiders to beat the Los Angeles Chargers.

Ben Roethlisberger has at least one more game to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers before retiring.

After eking out an impressive overtime victory over the arch rival Baltimore Ravens on the road earlier in the afternoon, all eyes were on the AFC West showdown in primetime. Because the Indianapolis Colts blew it vs. the Jacksonville Jaguars, the Steelers would get into the postseason if the Los Angeles Chargers vs. the Las Vegas Raiders game did not end in a tie. Well, it almost did…

Thankfully, Daniel Carlson’s game-winner in overtime sent the Silver and Black, and the Steelers, into the postseason, while breaking the hearts of dozens of Chargers fans.

Here is Roethlisberger watching it all go down while on camera with friends TobyMac and Bart Millard on FaceTime. There is no audio of this, but Roethlisberger being 15 seconds behind only added to the hilarity of what transpired.

No. 7 Pittsburgh will have to travel to Arrowhead to take on the No. 2 Kansas City Chiefs on Wild Card Weekend. Kickoff is at 8:15 p.m. ET, 7:15 p.m. CT.

Watch Ben Roethlisberger realize the Pittsburgh Steelers are in the playoffs

This is Roethlisberger’s last season before he hangs up the spikes. He’s not as good as he once was, but he’s as good once as he ever was. Roethlisberger will almost certainly be a first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Famer as arguably the greatest quarterback in Steelers franchise history. Terry Bradshaw did win four Super Bowls. For now, Roethlisberger is still in the mix to go win his third.

Even if Roethlisberger is running on fumes at the very end of his illustrious career, he is still a kid at heart. The joy in his eyes after seeing Carlson’s kick go through the uprights is why sports matter so much. They take you back to a time and place during the great joy of growing up. Roethlisberger might have gone out on top in Baltimore, but he has one more game to play.

It would be nothing short of miraculous for the Steelers to stun the Chiefs on Wild Card Weekend.
